My husband and I saw Chickenfoot in Berzerkeley. Great Show and I got hit with TWO drumsticks! 3rd row seats! GREAT SHOW as was Tahoe! Love Sammy and this group complements his talents! We loved it. I am a long time Sammy Fan. My husband and I met in 1971 and we used to ride around listening to 8 track tapes of Montrose and Sammy solo. Fans from way back!
Is there anything better than a guy asking his wife for CHICKENFOOT tickets for his birhtday present early? Not in this lifetime. This show was the greatest gift EVER!!!! Uncle Sammy and I share the month of October for our birthdays, one of these years I hope to be able to attend his birthday bash in Cabo San Lucas. So, back to the show, I cannot think of another artist other than Sammy that is all about the music, all about making things better, all about having fun with friends and family, and a guy that can call up 3 of his best friends and say, "hey, you want to jam and make a record?". And then go on tour to share with thousands and thousands of people who find their music very entertaining, and inspiring and makes you jump out of your seat and dance. This shoutout goes out to all the CHICKENFOOT fans and the band members, I hope that all of you had a great christmas and plan on a safe and fun new year. Do me a favor and continue to tell your friends about the greatest band in the world. Let us all stand and give Uncle Sammy, Michael, Joe and chad another round of applause for putting their true music into us all. It's about time that a group like CHICKENFOOT has risen.
The "boys" have soooo much fun when they are on stage! They love to rock. I saw the first "Road Test" show in Seattle and then this show in Berkeley. They are much more polished and together now . . . . . . but that first show was something never to be duplicated. I felt like I was standing in on a private jam session with four guys who were having the time of their lives. St. Joe is beyond anything that I have ever seen or heard and yet is so humble on stage. I find myself just standing and staring open-mouthed when I watch him. A truly amazing man. Sammy creates a party wherever he goes. Mikey forges such a strong backbone to this group that it is hard to hear just him . . . . He is everywhere. Chad, well Chad, what can you say? He throws more drum sticks than any other drumer on the planet. But, when you get one, even if he has only used it a few minutes, you can see that he has totally trashed it! I am so glad to have had the chance to see them "in the beginning" and near the end of their tour to witness the changes time has brought. It is truly a gift to see them play and I can't wait to see them next time around. They are a tour not to be missed.
I never write about Chickenfoot right after a show but tonight was Amazing, no that’s not the right word, Phenomenal, no that’s not it either…I know Brillant. I’m not kidding, this is my third time seeing them and it was mind blowing. Everyone in this band is truly talented and having the time of their lives which in turn gives us, the audience, the time of our lives. I can already tell that my neck is going to be sore from looking up at the stage but its SO worth it. One of my favorite stories is there was this guy standing off to my right and I could hear him yelling “Chad Smith, Chad Smith!” I thought how cute, this guy is so enthusiastic, I love Chad too. Turns out that the yeller is my brother! Big fan now and he’s (finally) convinced that Chad is the Shit (I’ve know it since May)
If I wasn’t poor I’d go to the LA show its the last one and I’m sure it’s going to be...well maybe somehow I’ll make it and then I’ll have the proper adjective.
